It wasn’t the sound of Indycar engines that started the 2022 Indy 500 Open Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it was the sound of the engines of the track dryers. Rain took center stage at the beginning of both days, delaying start a few hours each day. This left me with the opportunity to walk around the Speedway and get some great shots of the famous track.
Once the track was dry, the green flag waved and Firestone tires smoked and drivers headed out to do laps at the famous Yard of Bricks.
It wasn’t only a great day for drivers and teams to get out and prep for the 500, it was also a much needed two days for me to get back out there and test my new Canon R6 camera to get the creative gear moving.
Much looking forward to the official start of May with the road course race out at IMS.
